Taxation without representation, over 300,000 aviation noise pollution complaints have gone ignored in Los Angeles county in the last 3 years

“From April 2015 to July 2018, the previous complaint system logged 266,967 complaints. Helicopter noise has been a problem in the Los Angeles area for a long time and it is  getting worse. Every year more helicopters occupy the airspace at low altitudes above our homes, disrupting the quality of our lives, and jeopardizing our safety.”

Taxation without representation, over 300,000 aviation noise pollution complaints have gone ignored in Los Angeles county in the last 3 years with LAPD helicopter pilots being the worst culprits of noise, fuel, and lead pollution along with corporate media helicopter pilots and small air pilots. In Los Angeles county, the material conditions of local communities have been destroyed with heavy on the ground traffic and now heavy air traffic is a serious problem. LAPD helicopter pilots and other rogue air pilots are often sitting less than 500 ft from the ground, and sometimes less than 50 ft from the rooftops of condo and apartment dwellers. Despite what many think, density does not MEAN noise pollution, it shouldn’t at least!

Noise pollution is linked to cancer, violent crime, dementia, heart disease, and other serious issues yet the crisis has only grown worse and now we are preparing for a class action lawsuit against aviation (pilots and companies), LAPD, Los Angeles city/county, the FAA, and the state of CA for intent to cause harm. We will prove that Los Angeles City governance has been aiding a rogue militia that has intent to cause harm. For Los Angeles specifically, we will prove that the city government has intentionally cut down trees depriving residents of oxygen in order to aide a rogue police helicopter fleet that has not made Los Angeles residents more safe, in fact the helicopters seem to have made things much worse. Residents of Los Angeles are being deprived of sleep by LAPD helicopter pilots and other rogue aviation, they are being disrupted while they work, go to school, and other day to day places. We simply cannot live like this any longer. Below is a video from Los Angeles city council of testimony from a resident who is expressing concerns about noise pollution and in the video you can see the city council ignoring the callers concerns as they talk amongst each other.

“Not a few Angelenos have been jolted awake by the sound of police helicopters circling their neighborhood. There is a number you can call to inquire about what is happening, but it won’t do much good to file a complaint: LAPD policy dictates that the department shall not pursue complaints about noise from low-flying helicopters.

The latest buzz over chopper noise in L.A. started with Carmegeddon One. News helicopters floated for hours over the freeway shutdown, ticking off residents in the Sepulveda Pass area. That ruckus led to a helicopter noise meeting last year where news media executives pledged to coordinate with each other to use fewer choppers for coverage.”

Los Angeles county residents are being denied basic civil liberties as rouge aviation cause disruptions in our communities. We are preparing to file a class action lawsuit by the summer of 2024 and we are requesting resolutions as follows:

  • Over 10 million+ in financial restitution and specifically seeking restitution for residents negatively impacted by rogue aviation, especially those that are being forced to move because of the issue that has gone ignored.
  • Land back for new intentional towns founded on an agreed set of shared principles. Millions of residents DO not and did not agree to live in towns where helicopters and small planes were flying over non-stop. LAPD helicopter pilots are not making me or my community more safe. I do not consent to helicopters flying over my home while I sleep, shower, work, go to school, sit at the park, and do other basic day to day activities. Myself and the millions of others that want intentional towns where rogue aviation cannot exist is a must have.
  • A resolution for existing towns (rural and cities) that have police helicopters and other rogue aviation flying over non-stop. A citizens council must form and call for immediate redress with the FAA and local airports misusing communities as dumping grounds for harmful pollutants linked to serious issues. The citizens council should work within local communities to create intentional systems of public safety that make sense but helicopters flying in circles all day extracting $50 million dollars just for helicopters is not public safety, it’s insanity. Flight schools should be in specific regions and they should not be doing practice flights over residential areas at any point of the day. I can’t stress enough that our neighborhoods are not dumping/playgrounds for casual day to day aviation leaking noise, fuel, and lead pollution.
  • In towns like Los Angeles county, consider the dismantling or restructuring of LA City Council districts and support neighborhoods that want to withdraw from Los Angeles city/county all together to form a new intentional governance that has specific policies that must be followed in order to support collective community health.

We will be examining more resolutions as we move into legal action. We are fundraising in order to pay an attorney to file a class action on our behalf. We will also be using the funding to put up billboards, print flyers and other efforts to begin building new communities as we are being driven out of our towns by a rogue militia that is foreign to our towns and has intent to cause harm. We are personally withholding our taxes in order to use them for redress. We have been demanding meetings with LA City council, the county of LA, the state of CA, and the FAA for more than 3 years now and our requests have gone ignored. We have helicopters and small planes rumbling over our homes from sun up to sun down. We have small air pilots flying banners over grade schools in our communities promoting weed and alcohol and we just can’t accept that any longer.
